  • Recordkeeping

Written Programs and Procedures

A foundational element of workplace safety and health is the development of written programs and procedures. Not only is this specifically required by OSHA but it is representative of best practices outlined by entities that are Incorporated by Reference within the OSHA Standard (29 CFR 1910.6). Some such entities include:

  •  American National Standards Institute (ANSI)
  • National Fire Protection Association (NFPA)
  • National Institute for Occupational Safety & Health (NIOSH)
  • Underwriters Laboratories (UL)
  • International Code Council (ICC)
  • International Organization for Standardization (ISO)

Written programs and procedures ensure safety concerns and risk scenarios are anticipated and accounted for. It also provides a framework for employee training and reduces anecdotal knowledge in situations that require definitive, prescriptive action (i.e: Fall Rescue Procedures, Emergency Action Plan, Fire Prevention Plan, Injury & Illness Prevention Program, etc.) OPX assists clients in the development of written programs and procedures that are tailored to the work environment.

Administrative Assistance

One of the biggest challenges associated with workplace safety and health is understanding the applicability of the standard. Effective interpretation of OSHA regulations and their administrative requirements necessitates extensive training and exposure to the standard. OPX helps employers understand Administrative & Recordkeeping requirements that are unique to the workplace and avoid actions that are unnecessary or even counterproductive.

Safety Management Software

Increasingly, software solutions are being used to help manage workplace safety. Safety management software is a powerful tool to help track and store critical information related to incidents, policies, equipment, records, and training. OPX assists clients with the implementation of such software.
